Help Hope Mission Home in India

color-fun-run

Please join us in a fun opportunity on Monday May, 25th at 8:00am for a Color Fun Run for Hope Mission Home at Countryside Park in League City (100 Alderwood, League City, TX 77573).

Hope Mission Home is an orphanage in southern India. Since 1988 Hope Mission Home has cared for over 900 children and is today home to 182 children.  80-90% of these children are Dalits.  The Dalits are know as “Untouchables.” In their society, they are often viewed as the lowest of the low and even regarded much like stray dogs. However, these beautiful children have found a home at HMH and have been able to live in safe conditions, go to school, and are surrounded by people who love and care for them.

Recently, however, the local government has made it impossible for the orphanage to stay open. They have found themselves in a catch twenty-two with the government requiring them to build a wall around the property but then prohibiting them from building that same wall. In the face of such opposition, the orphanage leaders have decided to move the orphanage to another district that is more friendly to Christian orphanages.
