Parents have exponentially more opportunities to make a profound impact on their children’s faith than any church program could ever have. We want kids and students to see Mom and Dad praying and reading the Bible together. We want kids to serve alongside their parents in mission. We believe that this process of relational ministry will produce the kind of faith in the next generation that is then passed on to the next generation, that is then passed on to the next generation and so on.
To this end, Grassroots Church empowers parents through groups, Worship Jr., and other ministries. You can learn more about our philosophy of children, student, and family ministry by listening to our two-week message series here.
Need some guidance on talking with your child about faith? Perhaps you feel that your child is getting close to being ready for baptism. We’re happy to help with that conversation. You can also check out this resource that helps us to gauge children’s readiness: Leading Kids to Christ.
Grassroots Groups are not just for adults.
No matter what age you are, we believe that disciples become deeply rooted and fruitful through small-group discipleship.
Students (6th-12th grades) form Grassroots Groups, led by adult group leaders.
Children 5th grade and younger are intentionally included as often as possible in the Grassroots Groups of their parents. As the adults study together, children are led through a teaching just for them. They are included in service projects too, when appropriate.
Kids on Sundays
Worship Jr. – Instead of listening to the pastor’s teaching, elementary-aged kids and younger are invited (but not required) to attend a special time of teaching just for them in the children’s ministry area. Midway through the worship gathering kids will be escorted to Worship Jr. (When you arrive, we’ll check you in along with your children, and show you around).
Nursery – Children of all ages are welcome to worship with us throughout the entire worship gathering. However, you may prefer for your child (ages 3-months to 3-years) to be cared for in the nursery. Simply indicate this as you check-in upon arrival. Our childcare volunteers have had background checks and have been trained not only to care for your kids but to pray for them throughout the worship gathering.
